Holding Space

At Play Cousins Collective, we believe that healing is a communal journey, and everyone deserves access to the tools and support they need to thrive. That's why we're proud to host Holding Space, a groundbreaking program under our Community Healing pillar designed to make mental health therapy more accessible to those with childcare responsibilities.

Holding Space offers therapy sessions with a Black provider, either for free or on a sliding scale, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to getting the support you need. What makes this program truly unique is that it’s offered in person at our office, with childcare provided as needed. We aim to remove the obstacles that prevent many from accessing mental health care, so you can focus on your healing journey without worry.

Holding Space is more than just therapy sessions—it's a movement to destigmatize mental health care within our community. Participants are also invited to our healing and wellness gatherings that normalize therapy and introduce our members to healing practices rooted in Black culture and liberation.

Our Mental Wellness Groups, Soul Sisters and Brother Healing Brother, provide safe spaces for Black women and men to gather quarterly, sharing experiences, offering mutual support, and exploring wellness practices that honor our cultural heritage. These gatherings are opportunities to connect deeply with others on the same journey and to reinforce the strength found in our shared experiences.

Whether it's connecting with a therapist who understands your experience, finding new ways to cope, or simply taking a moment to breathe, Play Cousins Collective is here for you.
